Here are some thoughts:
Even though it is dark with no light, seemingly at the end, we have been given a gift. Now is the time to refocus on what is essential, to brush off the layers of inertia weighting our spirit, meaningless ambitions tearing our lives
What do we believe in? What do we know to be true? What are our core values?
As other people recently have made a choice reflecting their beliefs,
We take this opportunity to look within, understand what is of worth to us, go back to basic principles that have guided us, that illuminate us
Here is what we know to be true:
–Make the world a more equal and a better place for everyone
–Work towards leaving a better planet for the next generation
–Share opportunities, knowledge and know-how with others
–Fight for the rights of your fellow humans
–Support the plight of the less fortunate
–Listen to their struggles, lend an ear to their thoughts
–Cast no judgments but only encouragement and assistance based on each one’s capacity
–Practice patience and long-suffering while understanding that there is more joy to give than to receive
–Seek what is humble, simple, and honest
I say that is our focus; that is our truth.
